Acupuncture
Acupuncture involves the insertion of extremely thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body. A key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture is used to treat a vast range of health conditions including pain, anxiety, depression, infertility, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and many more.
Roisín is dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive care and uses a combined method of treatments with the aim of promoting physical, emotional and mental wellbeing, based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
What is Acupuncture ?
Traditional Chinese medicine explains acupuncture as a technique for balancing the flow of energy or life force- known as Qi — believed to flow through pathways (meridians) in your body. By inserting needles into specific points along these meridians, acupuncture practitioners can release blocked qi in the body and stimulate function, evoking the body’s natural healing response through various physiological systems. Modern research has demonstrated the effect of acupuncture on the nervous system, endocrine and immune systems, cardiovascular system and digestive system.
Many of the disorders listed below have been recognised by the World Health Organisation as diseases, symptoms or conditions for which acupuncture has been proved-through controlled trials-to be an effective treatment.
